It is a very busy week here in North Texas! The popular annual Stock Show continues in Fort Worth with some of the best weather the annual event has ever enjoyed! Head out to Cowtown for great rodeo events, award winning livestock shows and competitions and other exciting family activities - yeehaw!!
Also this weekend, the USA Film Festival will present their annual KidFilm Festival -- an all-animation movie fest for kids and adults of all ages! Once again the Angelika Film Center in Dallas will host the two day festival both Saturday and Sunday. Doors open at 11:30am.. On Saturday, kids can come out and meet author Peter Brown, receive a FREE book and see his films The Curious Garden and Children Make Terrible Pets. KidFilm audiences will also be the world's first to see five minutes of sneak preview footage from the upcoming new film Dr. Seuss' The Lorax and even meet the furry character!
On both Saturday and Sunday, KidFilm will present a tribute to Japanese animation house Studio Ghibli screening 11 of the studio's films from the past 28 years including a special preview of the new film, The Secret World of Arrietty. Tickets are $5.00 per program for kids and adults, and tickets to Peter Brown and The Lorax are available free of charge!
The world famous and revered American Ballet Theater comes to the Winspear Opera House both Friday and Saturday nights. Titus hosts the performances - the company continues to be focused on bringing the magic of dance theater to the great stages of the world. Country music legend Loretta Lynn returns to No Texas for one night Sunday evening at 7pm at the AT&T Performing Arts Center.
