There is a lot going on in North Texas this week including some fun Royal Wedding Watch Parties! You can head out to the Hotel St Germaine in Dallas for some very proper tea and cake - the actual cake Prince William has selected for his groom's cake will be served! The British Emporian in Grapevine will also be hosting a fun watch party this Friday during the Royal nuptials - our very own Royal Watcher Marianne Martinez will be on hand LIVE in our CBS11 early newscasts for updates here locally! Looks like North Texas is excited for the big day - cheers to the happy couple!
Moving on from tea to wine - you can enjoy award winning wines, fabulous food and five days to enjoy it all at the 27th annual Dallas Wine and Food Festival. This is North Texas' most entertaining and educational food and wine event every year. There are five signature events held at a variety of Dallas area venues with the Festival showcasing local and national culinary talent and award winning wines from The Dallas Morning News/TexSom Wine Competition - one of the largest and most highly regarded wine competitions in the United States. So come for great wine, great food and great fun April 27-May 1.
The Dallas Museum of Art brings back an annual favorite - Jazz In The Atrium. You can enjoy live jazz in the Dallas Museum of Art atrium every Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Stay tuned for an exciting upcoming event that will host a member of the legendary Rolling Stones! Dance lovers have had some great dance events recently thanks to TITAS. This Saturday night the world famous Martha Graham Dance Company will be performing on stage at the Winspear Opera House in Dallas at 8p. It's a night of some of the most beautiful and impressive dance to grace any stage so mark your calendars if you are a dance fanatic!
Looking for laughs? Nationally syndicated radio host Rickey Smiley will be in Dallas this weekend. The talented DJ has been working the comedy circuit for more than a decade and his fans love his irreverant but always topical and hysterical content. You can see Rickey this Saturday night at the Majestic Theater in Dallas at 8pm.
The USA Film Festival is a 40 year old non-profit organization that brings the very best in film to the North Texas area and this year there are some impressive guests and filmakers in attendance. Legendary film icon Cary Grant's daughter, Jennifer Grant, will be signing her book GOOD STUFF about her life with her dad, at the screening of the classic film TO CATCH A THIEF. TV's Frazier alum David Hyde Pierec will make an appearance on behalf of his new film THE GOOD HOST and there are many more fun and educational opportunities at the festival held this year at the Anjelika Film Center in Dallas through Sunday.
Charlie Sheen brings his winning/not winning show to the AAC on Wednesday night. We will be on site LIVE for all the fun/not fun!! Who knows what will happen? Suffice to say - Mr. Sheen will have his Goddesses on stage and hopefully the North Texans who purchased tickets will feel they got their money's worth. Radio DJ Kidd Kraddick is set to emcee.
