Mavs Rookie Larkin Breaks Ankle At Practice
DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - Reports say that Dallas Mavericks rookie guard Shane Larkin has broken his ankle during a summer league practice and could miss two to three months.
Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news Friday night, tweeting:
Larkin commented on his twitter account that the reports of his injury were true and that he would "come back stronger than before."
Nothing official has been released from the Mavericks organization.
Larkin was selected with the 18th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks and traded to the Mavericks on draft night.
He was expected to serve as third point guard for the Dallas behind starter Jose Calderon and free-agent signing Devin Harris, who is also injured and has scrapped a three-year deal with the Mavs.
Without Harris and Larkin, the Mavericks are down to just Calderon and Israeli rookie Gal Mekel at the point guard spot.
