Grandmother Forgets Sleeping Toddler In Hot Car While Shopping

GRAND PRAIRE (CBSDFW.COM) - A toddler left in a hot car while her grandmother was shopping survived the heat this afternoon.

Grand Prairie Police received the 911 call regarding the unresponsive child at 360 and Camp Wisdom shopping center parking lot.

Police said the 2-year-old's grandmother forgot about the sleeping child in the car when she went inside a store.

When the grandmother left one store to go to another store, she remembered the child was in the car. She returned to the car and found the child unresponsive.

A witness in the parking lot began CPR on the little girl until paramedics arrived.

She was revived and transported to Medical Center Arlington in stable condition, then transported to Cook Children's Hospital.

No charges were filed at the time of this report.
