Rare Surgery Helps Allen Teen
An Allen girl with a rare form of the back condition scoliosis is on the mend after an even rarer form of surgery.
A year ago 15-year old Tressa Scott had a slight curvature of the spine. By the beginning of last month, scoliosis had taken hold and her mother Norma says it was evident with 68% curvature at the bottom. So she found a new procedure at Presbyterian Hospital Plano that uses a robot. Doctor Isador Lieberman says the machine makes surgery precise. Mother Norma says a month later...her daughter is back to normal gaining an inch of height after the surgery.
