Rangers to Play Tampa Bay Rays in ALDS Series
When the Yankees lost in Boston Sunday, that told the Rangers everything they needed to know about what to pack for their upcoming road trip. Having already clinched the American League West title, Sunday's 6-to-2 loss to the Angels meant little. But when the Yankees lost, it clinched the AL East title for Tampa Bay, setting up a first-round playoff match-up between the Rays and the Rangers. The Texas Rangers will play matinee games with the Tampa Bay Rays in the first three games of the first American League playoff round.
According to the schedule released Sunday by Major League Baseball, the Rangers will open their best-of-five series with the Rays at 12:37 p.m. CDT Wednesday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., Game 2 is scheduled for 1:37 p.m. CDT Thursday in Florida.
