Rangers Place Torrealba On Waivers
BOSTON (AP) - The Texas Rangers have placed catcher Yorvit Torrealba on waivers for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release.
Torrealba was designated for assignment July 31 when the Rangers acquired catcher Geovany Soto from the Chicago Cubs. If Torrealba is not claimed, he will become a free agent Friday.
Torrealba batted .236 with three homers and 12 RBIs in 45 games for Texas in 2012, his second year with the club.
