Rangers Manager Testifies in Bankruptcy Hearing

Rangers skipper Ron Washington, just home from the team's latest road trip, has to be in court today. Washington has been ordered to testify in front of the federal bankruptcy judge in charge of organizing the team's sale. Yesterday, the court heard from president Nolan Ryan who made it clear financial issues are affecting many aspects of the club because he's not allowed to tap into five-million dollars in extra revenue stemming from better attendance due to the team's winning record. Ryan is the most prominent name in a consortium aiming to buy the team from Tom Hicks who owes millions of dollars to dozens of creditors. Those creditors blocked the sale and are pressing for an auction to squeeze top-dollar from the sale and they claim the Ryan group's bid is not the best offer.
