Rangers Fans Attempt To Break World Record
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - "Sunglasses At Night" isn't just the name of a hit record from the 80's, as fans will prove tonight at Rangers Ballpark. Tonight's goal is to break the world record for the most people in one venue wearing sunglassses in the dark.
Thirty thousand fans heading to the Rangers vs Astros game tonight at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington will each get a free pair of shades, and they'll be asked to put them on at the end of the sixth inning and leave them on for ten minutes to solidify their place in the history books.
An official from the Guiness Book will be on hand to certify the attempt at world record glory.
The stunt is part of a joint promotion with the Rangers and Reliant Energy to celebrate Summer and the power companies new Solar Solutions program.
