Rain Moving In Tonight

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - An area of low pressure is on the move across North Texas this evening. A cold rain has been ongoing through a good portion of Oklahoma through the day. Temperatures are in the 40s in Oklahoma City. We will see some scattered showers and a few isolated thunderstorms move into the area this evening and overnight. In general we are looking for less than a quarter inch of rain in some locations. It will cool off tonight with temperatures dropping into the mid 40s.

SUNNY SKIES RETURN TOMORROW
A sunny day on Tuesday but it will be cool with highs only in the low 60s. Winds will start out of the northwest before shifting to the southwest in the afternoon.

DRY FORECAST TUESDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND
Another cold front will get here on Wednesday, but no rain is anticipated with this front. It will bring us a quick shot of colder air. Wednesday we will see highs in the upper 60s before the cold air arrives behind the front. Thursday and Friday morning temperatures will start in the upper 30s and low 40s. Thursday afternoon will be cool with a high of only 60. Friday afternoon into the weekend will be mild with temperatures eventually climbing into the mid 70s on Saturday and Sunday. There will be a little bit of cloud cover in the mornings over the weekend, but overall a mild weekend on tap.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK
Most of the models agree on a dislodging of the cold air that is building in Canada. This cold air looks to invade the United States next week. It appears like there may be a strong enough front to bring us some rain the middle of next week. If the rain and clouds get out of here in time for Thanksgiving we could see our first official freeze of the season at DFW. A few locations have already had a freeze, but this could be a hard freeze for all.
