RICHARDSON (1080 KRLD) - A food truck park is one step closer to making its home in Richardson after the city's planning commission approved the park's permit to open during a meeting last night.

Now it's up to Richardson city council to give their final stamp of approval.

Park owner Michelle Chesney says Richardson has nothing like what she's planning, and she hopes the park fills a niche.

"We will be able to fit 5 food trucks in the back, a full bar and play area for the kids." said Chesney.

The park plans to set up on Bishop Avenue, between 75 and Greenville Ave.

Chesney says last night's meeting was a step in the right direction, and she was very happy by the support from folks who showed up.

The city council meets to decide on April 27th. If the council gives final approval - the park plans to be open by summer.
