CROWLEY (CBSDFW.COM) -- Parents are on high alert in Crowley, where authorities say two suspicious men attempted to lure children into their vehicle at a bus stop on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred around 7:15 a.m. as a group of 10- and 11-year-old children were waiting for their school bus in the Mesa Vista neighborhood.

According to Crowley Police, the men pulled up to the bus stop and asked the children if they needed a ride. When they refused, one man opened the door and said he wanted to "take them on a ride of a lifetime."

After the children refused to get into the truck, the two suspects went to another bus stop and did the same thing.

The children reported the incident to their bus driver, who alerted police.

The passenger is described as a heavy set, white male in his 30's with a short black beard and a possible scar on his cheek. He was wearing a green hat with a fishhook on the bill at the time of the incident.

The men are believed to be driving a white Ford Superduty quad-cab truck. The truck had wood piled in the bed and a chrome headlight grill on the front.

Crowley Police are expected to increase patrols in the neighborhood on Friday. Authorities are encouraging parents to teach their school age children basic safety when walking to and from school.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Crowley Police Department at 817-297-2276.
