Plano Grandmother Gives Birth To Granddaughter

PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) – A 54-year old grandmother has given birth to her own grandchild as a surrogate at Medical Center of Plano.
Tracey Thompson offered to carry her daughter; Kelley McKissacks' baby after she had struggled with infertility.
Just after 3 PM on Wednesday January, 6 2016 the 54-year old gave birth to her granddaughter Kelcey who weighed in at 6 pounds 11 ounces.
The healthy baby was named after both her grandmother and mother.
Thompson said, "This is such a blessing that I can do this for my daughter."
A news conference with the family and doctors at the hospital is scheduled for 1pm central time.
