Only Subtle Changes in the Forecast
The triple digit streak should live on through the end of the week, as high pressure aloft continues to control our weather. This means plenty of sunshine as well...so take it easy if you have to work outside. Drink plenty of water and take a lot of breaks to stay healthy.
Another LEVEL ORANGE AIR POLLUTION WATCH is in effect for Thursday as fairly light winds continue over our area. The humidity values should also stay up, which means the heat index, or "feels like" temperature, will approach 110° in some areas Thursday.
The high pressure ridge will break down a bit over Texas during the weekend.
The high will essentially split in two...with part of it retrograding back into the Desert Southwest and the other piece over the Southeast U.S. An area of low pressure will be found over Texas, but this is not expect to bring our area rain. There could be a few showers in South Texas over the weekend however. The extra moisture and cloud cover in our state will keep temps from reaching 100°....at least for now.
