HOUSTON (CBS11) - Dreams are dashed for some North Texas teens after their animals were stolen hours before the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

At least five families traveled from Wise County to show their prize lambs and goats.

They parked their SUV and trailer at the hotel Tuesday night.  On Wednesday morning, both were gone along with the animals inside.

"You can't get all the hours you spent with the lambs and goats in the barn.  You can't get any of that back," says 8th grader Rebecca Lambert.

The kids say the animals need special care and could dehydrate or die within hours.

Houston Police are investigating.
