DALLAS (CBS11) - Move over kids, Easter egg hunts are no longer just for you.
A mother and daughter duo in Dallas are showing people the value of random acts of kindness by hiding some presents for adults in their Easter eggs.
Beverly Adams and her daughter Ashley Stillwell organized a "Good deeds on Good Friday" Easter egg hunt for adults.
The eggs were hidden all over Victory Park and stuffed with gifts like cash, perfume and jewelry.
"We decided to just do something out of the ordinary and honor what happened on Good Friday by giving to the wonderful people of Dallas," said Beverly Adams. "It's just about that random act, you know that unexpected thing."
While it was mostly kids who were finding the eggs, it was moms like Angie Brady who were really enjoying the gifts.
"I can't believe I got one for me," Brady said. "I'm a lucky mom."
Stillwell says the gifts were donated from local retailers and hotels who wanted to support their random acts of kindness, something the mother and daughter hope other people will pay forward.
"If they could just give someone a cup of coffee, or buy a police officer lunch, or just give a smile or not honk at someone," Adams said. "We just know that it's the little things in life that make a difference."
This was the adult egg hunt's first year but Stillwell said they are already planning to do it again next year, but probably in a different location so more people can attend.
