Need A Favor? There's Now An App For That

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Too cold?  Too tired?  Whatever the reason, you can get what you need without lifting a finger.  Actually lifting a finger is all you have to do.

With just a click of your smartphone, the app, "Favor" will grab just about anything you type in.  From food to furniture, supplies and medicine.

Right now the app's available in Boston, Austin, Houston and now Dallas.

Draped in a blue tuxedo shirt Tuesday night and armed with her smartphone, Chelsea Bolton just might be the next face delivering whatever you need.

"I don't think it's weird. I think it's fun and exciting," says Bolton, a Favor driver.

Using just a smartphone, users enter their credit card information and make requests ranging from delivering breast milk to buying bean bag chairs.  Bolton says she's already seen it all.

"I would say Sunday is probably one of our busiest days because of all the hung over people who don't want to leave their house," says Bolton.

There's a flat $6 charge, a 5-percent processing fee of total cost and of course, the tip.

While they won't deliver alcohol or people, everything else is fair game, including requests from students at high schools.

"I was there twice today delivering lunches," says Bolton.

Tuesday evening's request took Bolton to several restaurants, making deliveries at apartment complexes and the dorms at Southern Methodist University.

"Some nights you're just in bed and there's a good Netflix show on and just don't want to leave," says SMU student Hayley Halliburton.

Halliburton says she's only requested food but has thoughts about other items.

"We live in an on-demand society now with everyone being connected through the advent of smart phones," says Jeremy Johnson, Favor Delivery Manager.

This has been an especially busy week and for good reason.

"Cold weather and rainy weather are two usually really good Favor days," says Johnson.
