Near Record Heat Continues...

POP-UP STORMS THIS AFTERNOON & EVENING.

Once again today, we've seen a few storms bubble up in this intense heat.  Most of us will not see rain today, but a lucky few will…especially south, southeast and west of the DFW Area.  We have less instability today than yesterday, so we are not forecasting as many storms.  But the ones that do form will be slow-movers like yesterday.  Expect brief heavy rainfall, possibly small hail, gusty winds and lightning.

STAYING HOT

Unfortunately a big ridge of high pressure will more or less stay anchored over the southern U.S. through the next week.  The high will shift some and weaken a bit, but overall we're not expecting our weather to change.  Temps close to records during the afternoon.  Take it easy out there!  Lots of water, lots of breaks…don't overdo it in this early summer heat.
