NCAA Gives Baylor's Mulkey 1-Game Suspension

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- The NCAA has given Baylor women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey a one-game suspension for criticizing the officiating following her team's loss to Louisville in the national championship tournament earlier this year.

The NCAA also issued a public reprimand Tuesday and said it was withholding Baylor's team championship per diem from the regional round.

After Louisville knocked off top-seeded Baylor, Mulkey said the game was too physical and that more tournament work by the three officials would be ``be sad for the game.''

Mulkey will have to sit out a game during her next NCAA tournament appearance.

The NCAA said it was issuing a more severe penalty because Mulkey was reprimanded in 2011 for criticizing the NCAA tournament bracket. She also lost an undisclosed championship per diem allowance.
