More Spring Fever Coming Before Cool Start To Weekend
After a bone-chilling start to the day with readings in the 20s, it has turned out to be a nice afternoon..lots of sun & temps in the lower 50s. A warm front in West Texas will swing through our area later this evening and prevent temperatures tonight from being as cold as last night. The milder air behind this warm front will also turn out a beautiful day on Thursday with temperatures back into the 60s! And if you think that's warm, just wait until Friday! As strong low pressure develops over the Rockies, our wind will pick up out of the south and gust close to 30 mph during the day Friday…but temperatures should skyrocket into the mid to upper 70s by afternoon, about 20 degrees above normal for this time of year!
A cold front will move through all of North Texas Friday night and cool things down for Saturday. Yesterday our models were indicating the coldest of the air to stay to our north, but today nearly all of our guidance is suggesting more of that cold air moving into Texas for the start of the weekend. So we've revised the temperatures down for Saturday by several degrees. But we're still expecting another sizable warm up for Sunday.
Yet another cold front will affect our area Sunday night into Monday. However, it now appears the richest moisture will stay to our east and we'll stay rain-free for the start of next week. So our forecast remains dry for the next 7 days unless the models show better humidity values for next week's front. The models are showing quite a bit of uncertainty for next week, so stay tuned.
