More Heat Sunday Before Weather Changes Next Week

It's been another very hot day across North Texas, with temperatures above 100° for the fourth day in a row.  A HEAT ADVISORY has been extended to include most of North Texas until 7pm Sunday evening.

The forecast for Sunday is for more of the same.  Highs near 100-102° during the afternoon.  Isolated storms are likely again Sunday, but coverage will be quite low.

The heat index or "feels like" temperature will be even higher.  The heat index takes into account the temperature and the humidity.  Please take it easy outdoors again on Sunday...take frequent breaks, drink plenty of water and stay indoors as much as possible.

By Monday, the weather pattern changes as the jet stream takes another dip across the eastern parts of the United States.  The big heat dome high pressure will retreat westward back over the Rockies.

This will allow a weak, summer cold front to move through North Texas on Monday.  The front will bring scattered t'storms with it (better rain coverage) and slightly cooler temps beginning Monday night.

We will see 100s Sunday and Monday, but then slightly "less hot" for the rest of the week.  Highs only in the mid 90s and lows in the lower 70s for August isn't that bad!!
