Men Attacked By Aggressive Dogs In Hurst
HURST (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Hurst received reports about a group of four aggressive dogs roaming around a neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon. It happened at around 1:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Tumbleweed Drive.
The dogs approached a 61-year-old man who was working in front of a home and a 90-year-old man in his yard two houses away. The animals reportedly lunged and snapped at the victims and acted in a dangerous manner. Officials have not identified the breeds of the dogs.
During the attack, one of the men grabbed a pistol and fired two shots at the pack. The shots struck two of the animals, and scared the other two dogs away.
Animal service workers located one of injured dogs and rushed it to a veterinarian, but it was pronounced dead. A short time later, the second injured dog was found and also taken in for treatment. The condition of that animal is not known.
The other two dogs both returned home to their owner. All four of the canines were discovered to belong to one nearby resident. That owner may now face charges for the two attacks.
