COLLIN COUNTY (CBS 11 NEWS) - Dollar General employees in McKinney received a scare Tuesday morning when a spokesman says a man walked into their North McDonald Street store and told employees he killed his wife.

That assertion is thought to have been true since McKinney police arrested James Jones for just that. Investigators say the 44-year-old fatally stabbing his wife, Mishell Jones.

According to police, the 49-year-old woman was found stabbed in the front passenger seat of the couple's car, which was parked in front of the Dollar General.

Paramedics performed CPR while they rushed Mrs. Jones to Medical Center McKinney. She later died of her injuries.

A Dollar General spokeswoman says the store was open at the time of the incident, but couldn't say whether customers witnessed the stabbing or the man entering the store.

James Jones is now being held on a $2 Million bond at the Collin County Jail. No word yet on what led to the stabbing.

Flowers and balloons lay on the grass in front of the store Tuesday afternoon.
