Major Flooding in Parts of North Texas
While the Metroplex saw some rainfall over the past 24 hours, it was our far southeastern counties that got more than they needed in that time.
Many hours were spent under FLOOD and FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS from Freestone to Limestone to Anderson counties overnight into this morning.
The radar estimate shows a swath of 6 to 9" of rainfall from Groesbeck to Fairfield to Palestine. This had led to many creeks spilling out of their banks and rivers in southeast Texas rising to flood stage. Many roads have been washed out as a muddy mess.
Good news is that we are drying out nice this evening and will have a quiet Trick or Treat forecast tonight and beautiful weather through the weekend.
