M-Rod's All Roid Team
DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - "Step right up and win some crap"...a great line from the movie the Jerk. One of my all time favorites.
On the other hand, one of my least favorite topics is steroids in baseball.
In honor of Ryan "the lying" Braun's recent suspension, I decided to put together my version of MLB's best All Steroid Team.
Here is my list of alleged cheats and frauds. It was actually kind of fun filling out this lineup card of hall of shamers, as if I was putting together a team for a nine inning game.
CF - Barry Bonds - came up as a speedy lead off hitter and would have stayed that way if he didn't cheat.
SS - Alex Rodriguez - probably hits 350 career homeruns if he was clean
1B/DH - Rafael Palmeiro - Canseco is my DH vs Left handed pitching and lets not forget Mark Mcgwire
LF - Juan Gonzales - accused of juicing by former Owner Tom Hicks
3B - Ken Caminiti - Sad story and I like switch hitters batting clean up. It causes bullpen problems late in the game.
C - Ivan Rodriguez - This Rangers Hall of Famer has never said he didn't touch the stuff. You make the call?
RF - Ryan Braun - MLB should ban for life and make an example out of him
2B - David Bell - Teammate of Bond's in San Fran and followed in his footsteps.
P - Roger Clemens - total ass and total joke
Closer - Eric Gagne - At least he had cool glasses
