Local Congressman Undergoes Heart Surgery
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - North Texas Congressman Kenny Marchant had heart double bypass surgery Monday morning.
A spokesperson for the Congressman says Marchant is doing well and ready to go home. He's expected to be released from the hospital sometime in the next few days.
Marchant represents more than 600,000 people in Tarrant, Dallas and Denton Counties. The 59-year-old Republican has been a member of the U.S. House of Representatives since 2005.
Marchant's political career includes serving as a member of the Texas House of Representatives from 1987 to 2004. He was the Mayor of Carrollton from 1984-1987.
