DFW BMX Cyclist Takes On 7th Street Bridge Arches
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - It was a daredevil feat. Local cyclist Mat Olson was video-taped taking on the arches of the W 7th Street Bridge on Saturday, Jan. 11.
It's an attempt to receive an invite to the this year's Summer X Games in Austin, CBS 11 is told.
Olson wants to gain publicity by shooting and posting the video, and it seems to be working so far.
In the video, you can see Olson riding the gently sloping - and brand new - arches of the bridge. The bridge dedication ceremony was held two months ago, after construction of the new structure began in January 2012.
While the daring ride over the arches seems to have gone well, Olson did get a "talking to" by Fort Worth police.
