Largest Job Fair For Veterans Held In Dallas

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Thousands of military veterans are coming face to face with potential employers in what is billed as the largest veteran hiring event in Texas – "Hiring, Red, White, and You."
The event is put on by the Texas Workforce Commission in conjunction with several other organizations.
On Thursday 30 different job fairs aimed at getting vets working were held throughout Texas. Three of them were held in the North Texas area.
At Gilley's Southside Ballroom in Dallas Terry Maddox an Air Force veteran from Cedar Hill was looking to use his military experience to earn him a civilian job.
Maddox said, "Anything out there in management operations...project management."
The vets all had their resume's in hand and many recruiters were ready to hire and interview on the spot.
David Armstrong, a recruiter from King Cable says he likes the job fair because he trusts the work ethic of military veteran.
Armstrong said, "In what they were doing for the country they are really good workers. They love to work. Good discipline, and they are just great workers."
In the past 4 years of this job fair more than 42-thousand veterans have been connected with employers throughout Texas.
