Land Office Expands Beach Website

The Land Office expands its beach website to include some live surf data.  For well over a year the texasbeachwatch.com website has had water quality data for the entire Texas coast but now there's something else.  "We've expanded that this week to include surf conditions, so there's another reason to go to the beach.  We have no oil on Texas beaches and in some locations surf is up."  Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson says for the time being that live data is only available for Nueces County but he says if this experiment works and the website get's a lot of hits it will be expanded for more locations along the coast.
