Jason Garrett Shares Thoughts On Cowboys Loss

ARLINGTON (105.3 THE FAN) -- "We didn't do the things necessary to win the ballgame. It's as simple as that."

In his weekly chat with 105.3 The Fan's New School, Jason Garrett said the Cowboys offense simply wasn't balanced and efficient enough in the team's 17-16 loss in Kansas City.

Tony Romo attempted 42 passes on the afternoon, while DeMarco Murray managed just 25 yards on 12 carries.

"When you're balanced and attacking the defense a lot of different ways, everything gets better," said Garrett.

While the attack wasn't balanced, Dez Bryant took advantage of a number of opportunities with single coverage, reeling in nine catches for 141 yards and a TD -- largely in the first half.

But did the Cowboys go away from their top weapon too soon? Bryant had just one catch in the fourth quarter on four Dallas possessions.

"I thought when we had opportunities to get him the ball, we did a pretty good job of doing that," said Garrett.

The Cowboys failed to stay unbeaten and jump atop the NFC East on a day when the Eagles, Giants, and Redskins all lost. But Garrett doesn't seem to care about missing this opportunity.

"Regardless of what anybody else did in our division, that was an opportunity for us to win a ballgame."
