Injured Fort Worth Officer Thanks Community For Support

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Nearly four weeks to the day he was seriously hurt in a gunfight, officer Matt Pearce was well enough to participate in a meeting held in his honor.

Happy and healthy, and out of the intensive care unit, officer Pearce thanked the community via cellphone video and promised to return to serving them.

"I'm going to keep fighting cuz y'all keep fighting. We're going to get this done. I'm coming back. I'll be back," said Pearce.
