In the Midst of a Heat Wave With Little Relief in Sight

The heat is here and it's here to stay. Temperatures will cool down a bit as we head into early next week, but that won't last long as upper 90s will be back in the forecast as early as Tuesday.

Tropical Storm Chantal is no more as it is now just a low pressure system with heavy rain and strong winds. By the end of the weekend into early next week, several tracks have the remnants of Chantal heading into the Gulf of Mexico possibly impacting the Gulf Coast states. Unfortunately that does not give us any relief from this heat.

Temperatures will be warm tonight across North Texas with much of the Metroplex only dropping into the low 80s.

With the warm overnight lows and continued southerly winds, highs tomorrow will reach 100 at many locations around the area.

A cold front will slide through our northeastern counties and stall over that area. That front is bringing us a very slight chance of rain for tonight and tomorrow with higher chances to the north and east of the metroplex.

The rest of the week will bring heat, heat, and more heat with high temperatures ranging from 98°-103°.

As we head into early next week, the pattern shifts as the high pressure ridge moves to the west allowing temperatures to cool down just a bit, but humidities will be on the rise.

The heat will be back in full force as we near the middle of the week. The high pressure system will once again dominate our weather bringing us more chances for triple digit weather.

We will hit or exceed 100° for the next three days. Temperatures do cool off a few degrees towards the end of the weekend and early next week, but as we head towards the middle of next week 100° is back in sight.
