Ice Falling From Cowboys Stadium Injures Six

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.com) -Six people were injured at Cowboys Stadium Friday as snow and ice began falling from the stadium's roof.

The Arlington Fire Department says the snow and ice began falling from the roof around 1:15 Friday afternoon as workers were preparing the stadium for Super Bowl XLV on Sunday.

One worker was hit in the head and was rushed to JPS Hospital in Fort Worth in critical condition. Another was transported to Arlington Memorial Hospital down the road from the stadium. The worker in critical condition remains at JPS; all others were released.

Three of the other injuries, people hit in the shoulder and leg, were considered minor but the people were still transported to local hosptials.  Another person who suffered minor injuries was taken by car to the hospital.  According to a press release from the Super Bowl XLV Joint Information Center, those four injuries were said to be non-life threatening.

Ice can still be seen falling from the roof of the stadium.   The area where the snow and ice fell has been blocked off to workers, no one is currently allowed to walk outside the stadium.
