How Rare Was This Morning's Cold for DFW?

The low this morning at DFW was 35 degrees. Not a record for this date. That stands at 33, set in 1928. But this was the coldest April morning in 11 years.

But to be this cold this late in the season is very rare.

Looking back over the record books, there have been only 6 other times where it has been as cold or colder than this morning this late into April or May.  Those records go back 114 years.  What is truly remarkable is the cold snap we had back in 1903 at the end of the month.  The low temperature on April 30th, 1903 was 35 degrees.  The next morning on May 1 we woke up to 34 degrees!

TUESDAY MORNING LOWS

Here are the low temperatures from this morning.
