Hot in June

This heat wave actually started in the last four days of May but it looks to continue into next week. Certainly this weekend. Highs today in the mid-90's with a nice south/southeast wind at least to mediate the heat. Seek the shade and drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks.

This weekend highs both days should top out in  upper 90's, lots of sunshine. The southern breeze continues on Saturday. Dew points continue to linger around 60 degrees. Though rain chances will be just to our north and northwest with a frontal boundary it is likely almost all of north Texas will stay dry this weekend. If we see some stray storms it'll be in the northwest corner from Bowie over to Paris.

The long-range forecast continues to show hot conditions for us, both the 6-10 day temperature outlook (first graphic) and the 8-14 day outlook (the second) show good chances for above-normal temperatures.
