Homegrown Cowboys RB Phillip Tanner Makes His Mark
DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - All the glory from the Cowboys game against the Rams belonged to DeMarco Murray - but Phillip Tanner, the undrafted rookie from Dallas' Kimball High, looked like he belonged in his first regular-season action at running back.
"Tanner has just inordinately impressed [the Cowboys management] since he got on this team, and that's why he made the 53-man roster as a free agent" said Cowboys owner/CEO Jerry Jones.
Tanner posted six carries for 34 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter. "My role is to go out and play hard everyday. My role is whatever they [Cowboys] need me to do to win games. I'm open for any role they want me to play" said Tanner, "I just approach practice to play as hard as I can."

What does the rookie plan to do with the football he made his first NFL carry and touchdown with against the Rams? "I'm getting my name put on it right now. I'm waiting patiently so I can get it to put in my house." said Phillip.
