Heat Advisory Continues Thru Thursday
The Heat Advisory has just been extended into Thursday.
A heat advisory is issued when the afternoon temps and/or the heat index climb to above 105° and when the overnight lows stay at or above 80°. That gives you an idea of what expected the next couple of days...more of the same.
With high pressure firmly in place, high temperatures on Wednesday should be well above 100° again, with many locations topping out above 105°.
Wednesday is forecast to be the hottest day of the week, and possibly year so far. Temperatures should start easing back a bit by the end of the week and the weekend. Our big heat dome of high pressure will weaken a bit and move off to the northwest. With a few more clouds early next week, temperatures will "only" be in the upper 90s to near 100°.

Weekend...Mostly sunny and yes, still hot. Highs 100-102°

NOT AS HOT OR DRY AS JULY 2011
The data is coming in as we wrap up this month. It has certainly been very hot of course the past week or so. But last July we had 30 of 31 days in the triple digits. It has also not been as dry this year. All things are relative I suppose.
