GRANBURY (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — Lawyers for a gay couple who sued a Texas county clerk who denied them a marriage license on religious grounds say their case has been settled.
The federal lawsuit was lodged against Hood County Clerk Katie Lang. The couple was granted a license the day they filed their lawsuit.
The settlement covers the close to $44,000 in legal fees. In Kentucky, a federal judge has given a clerk who opposes same-sex marriage time to appeal his order that she begin issuing marriage licenses.
