FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A large water main break flooded parts of Trinity Park in Fort Worth early Saturday, sending tens of thousands of gallons of water rushing out of the ground.

The break on the 48-inch concrete line was first reported just after 7:30 a.m. inside the large park, located near I-30 and University Boulevard.

There was no immediate word on what might have caused the break or if any customers had service cut off or curtailed, according to Mary Gugliuzza with the Fort Worth Water Department, who was headed to the scene.

Fort Worth police officers blocked off several streets in the park.  Runners participating in an event were affected by the break along with bikers trying to negotiate the flooded paths.

Despite all the water, there were no immediate reports of damage to cars or nearby park facilities.
