From Very Cold to Very Warm
What a temperature ride over the last couple of days. After highs in the 70's on Monday we awoke to the coldest morning in over two weeks by Friday. Think about this: on Wednesday afternoon it was 60° and sunny. The VERY next afternoon the WIND CHILL was in the teens, about a 70-degree drop. By Sunday we'll be right back into the 70's for highs!
Snow fell from Waco over to Palestine, as much as 2" of snow in Centerville. Over the metro area we saw only a spit of snow/sleet. Meanwhile down in the Hill Country and in Houston it's been a nightmare of ice that brought morning traffic to a standstill.
We'll have a cold day, by afternoon highs will get into the low 40's under sunny skies teamed with a little bit of southwest wind. The real warm-up arrives tomorrow:
Nothing sticks around this time of year. A VERY strong cold front comes blasting in on Monday; wind gusts could hit 40-mph. By Tuesday afternoon we'll barely get above freezing!
