Fort Worth Looking At Street-Car System
The Ft. Worth city council's looking at a $25 million dollar federal grant today. The money's for a city street-car system, although some councilmembers have questioned if the project is affordable.
The project involves a 2-and-a-half mile loop around downtown Ft. Worth as Phase One of an 18 mile streetcar network. The Star Telegram says City officials will discuss whether they can come up with $29 million dollars in matching funds.
The Federal Transit Administration wants an answer before November.
