Fort Worth Considering Ban On K-2
Ft. Worth is the latest Texas city to consider limits on the sale and use of the so-called "legal marijuana" even as K-2 distributors look for ways around the rules.
Ft. Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief says it's a public health issue. Mansfield was the first to impose limits on K2 sales, but was quickly followed by seven others in North Texas. The Dallas city council may consider a ban later this month.
The Star-Telegram says K-2 manufacturers are starting to make alternative versions--with different packaging and a different combination of chemicals in the incense. More than 400 combinations of the incense are already on the market, and are sold under a variety of brand names.
Ft. Worth attorney David Sloane's a member of the National Organization to Reform Marijuana Laws and says for local government to try to address this, is tantamount to trying to kill a snake by stomping on its tail.
