Forecast Discussion for Wednesday, April 6
WINDY AND WARM NEXT FEW DAYS…
Wind Advisory continues for all of North Texas until 8pm and a Red Flag Warning remains in effect from the I-35W corridor and areas west until 7pm. It will be another windy night as south winds continue to blow. Temperatures tonight will drop into the mid to upper 60s with increasing clouds by daybreak. Temperatures tomorrow will be warmer with slightly less wind. Today winds have been gusting to 35 mph. Tomorrow winds will be on the order of 20 to 30 mph. So still windy but not as windy as today. The dryline will move into our western counties and once again a high fire threat will be with us. Areas just to the west of Fort Worth will likely make it to 90 tomorrow. It will be 87 in Fort Worth and 84 tomorrow in Dallas. Look for partly cloudy skies tomorrow.
DRYLINE MAY TRIGGER STORMS…
The atmosphere should remain CAPPED on Thursday as the dryline moves into our western counties. But if the CAP were to break a few storms could develop to our west tomorrow. There is a better chance of the CAP breaking on Friday. The dryline will once again be just to the west of Fort Worth on Friday and a little more moisture in the atmosphere along with a weak disturbance aloft should be enough to get a few storms going on Friday. Severe weather will be likely in our western and northern counties if storms develop. Temperatures will be quite warm on Friday topping out between 88 and 90 in the metroplex.
WEEKEND…
Windy and warm on Saturday as winds gusts back up to 35 to 40 mph. Temperatures will likely warm into the upper 80s and low 90s area wide. No storms are expected on Saturday, but on Sunday there will be the chance of a few storms. An upper level disturbance will send a Pacific cold front into the area during the day on Sunday. This will likely produce scattered showers and thunderstorms. There is the chance of a few severe storms on Sunday with the favored area for the biggest storms being east of the I-35E corridor.
PLEASANT EARLY NEXT WEEK…
Nice weather on Monday and Tuesday with lows in the 50s and highs in the 80s with lots of sunshine. Another rain chance will be possible by Wednesday of next week.
