Fire Damages Furniture Repair Business
FARMERS BRANCH (CBSDFW.COM) - Fire ripped through a Farmers Branch warehouse early Wednesday morning. The incident took place at about 3:15 a.m. in the 13000 block of Denton Drive, the location of a business that specializes in restoring antique and heirloom furniture.
Flames could be seen shooting from the rooftop of Aaron's Touchup & Restoration when emergency crews first arrived on the scene. But firefighters were able to knock down the blaze in just about 30 minutes.
Chief Steve Parker explained that the fire was mostly contained to an upper roof deck. "The fire's not actually in the structural tressing, it's above it," he said. As a result, most of the items inside of the warehouse were not harmed. Some flames made it below the roof deck, but it was mostly smoke and water that got into the building.
Nobody was inside of the warehouse at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries reported. Crews are now trying to determine the cause of the fire. Parker said that there is no indication that it was the result of arson.
Crews remained on the scene throughout Wednesday morning to investigate and monitor the situation.
