DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Plenty of people had to sidestep the weather warnings and find a way to get to stores and shops and hospitals and any other job.

If you think driving was a problem, try waiting on a bus or train in this cold today. That was the case for so many we found in Downtown Dallas. DART Train service was altered and buses were also delayed. Those on the roads also tried to take it all in stride.

"I've seen ice. Traffic is going good, just need to be careful, real careful," said Dallas resident Cleora Bell.

"Normally, the bus is on time, but today slower. Normally bus is here at 10:35, obviously not here, and I'm still waiting," said Dallas commuter Cassandra Drisdale on Monday morning.

Anastasia Leach made it to her post at Preston Hollow 24hour ER, waiting for potential patients, just in case. The clinic never closes, and Leach handled the icy drive to work.

"I was fine. I lived in Chicago for 2 years, so not bad. It only took me 10 minutes longer than usual. I took 75 from Plano," she said.
