THE DEFENSE
Q: Hi Jenifer! Great Kia. Aren't these supposed to be great on gas milage?
A: I work in Dallas. It's only about 18 miles. I get at least 360 miles for a tank.
Q: Is that one of the reasons you bought it?
A: That and it was a gift to myself. It's new to me. I got it just about a month ago. My daughter just moved out and I had some extra money, so I thought I'd buy myself a treat.
Q: You said your daughter recently moved out of the house. Does that give you a lot more time for yourself?
A: I would say it gives me a lot more time. I can drive over to the gym. I can go to work, stay after work, work weekends and go see her at her new place.
Q: What is your favorite place to go in this car?
A: Everywhere. I love this car. I primarily drive it back and forth to work, but it's always a treat to just go out and ride it. I like to ride in Downtown Dallas.
Q: Have you named your car yet? I know a lot of people do.
A: I call her Betsy. I think I've named every car I've ever owned Betsy. My dad called all of his cars Betsy. I don't know why, but I was raised to believe that every machine is a female, so no matter what, it was going to have a female name.
Q: Does Betsy have her own attitude? Have you had a chance to get to know her?
A: She's really mild tempered. I think I'm a lot stronger personality than her, but I'll whip her into shape. She's shy. She's a four-cylinder. They don't have the pick up that a six or an eight has. I have to encourage her to go a little faster and quicker.
Q: Do you like going fast?
A: Yes, yes I do. I'm a speeder.
Q: What do you think about driving in Dallas?
A: I think there are spots that are crazy, but it doesn't bother me. It's a good place to be!
