Dead Teen's Family Sues Farmers Branch Officer

FARMERS BRANCH (CBSDFW.COM) - The family of a teen killed by a former Farmers Branch police officer has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against him and the city.
Officer Ken Johnson was off-duty when he chased and then fatally shot Jose Cruz, 16, and wounded his friend Edgar Rodriguez on March 13.
The teens were suspected of burglarizing Johnson's sport utility vehicle. Johnson was arrested for murder and aggravated assault.
He resigned from the Farmers Branch Police Department last week.
