DALLAS (AP) - Some Dallas light rail service will be suspended this month so crews can finish repairs planned for November but delayed due to bad weather.

Dallas Area Rapid Transit on Monday announced downtown rail service will be suspended Dec. 20-21.

DART in late October began work to replace some downtown rails.

Inclement weather the weekend before Thanksgiving interrupted rail replacement work near Houston Street. This month's suspension of light rail service will allow completion of track replacement in an area along Pacific Avenue.

Shuttle buses will provide service for the affected transit stations.

DART operates the state's largest municipal rail system, serving Dallas and a dozen other North Texas cities.
