DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The Dallas legal community was in shock Sunday night after learning that prominent personal injury attorney Brian Loncar died earlier that morning.

His death came just two days after the funeral for his 16-year-old daughter.

Loncar's colleagues at his firm sent out a message that they will continue the work with the team he built.

Loncar was known as "The Strong Arm" in a series of commercials, but friends said behind that Strong Arm persona was a loving friend and family man.

With 11 offices across Texas, Loncar wasn't just an attorney, he was the founder of a business that employed dozens.

Attorney Pat Montes went to law school with him at Texas Tech and said even then he was larger than life.

"He was the big man on campus, and he was just a nice guy to everyone and made sure that everyone felt good," Montes said.

Attorney Krisi Kastl suspects it was her Texas Tech connection than landed her first job out of law school at Loncar's firm.

"Brian is part of the reason I am who I am. He taught me how to run a business, how to be a trial lawyer," Kastl said.

Dallas police responded to Loncar's office where they found him unresponsive and had him transported to a local hospital. He was later declared dead, but the medical examiner has not released an official cause of death. Investigators say they are not looking for any suspects in the case.

Loncar's death comes just two days after the funeral for Loncar's youngest daughter Grace, who took her own life after years of battling depression.

"I think those of us that knew him well hurt for him because Brian and Grace were extraordinarily close," Kastl said.

"That was his little girl. It's just really, really, really sad and really overwhelming," Montes said.

The Loncar family released a statement that reads in part, "... Right now, we are hurting and struggling to understand. Today, we are embracing each other; we know this pain and heartache will be with us forever."

Brian Loncar was 56-years-old. He is survived by his wife and five of his children.
