Dallas Budgets Set to be Finalized
Weeks of fights and heated debate will come to an end this week when both the city of Dallas and Dallas County officials approve their 2011 budgets. A 1.5 cent property tax increase was not enough to save the jobs of 3 employees in the District Attorney's office and 80 deputy constables responsible for writing traffic tickets. The City of Dallas will approve it's budget on Wednesday. Council members are on track to finalize a 6.5 percent additional tax hike for property owners within the city limits.
